In this work, a Fuzzy Adaptive Neighborhood Search algorithm which uses fuzzy concepts and heuristic rules in the decision procedures together with several schedulers to adapt its behaviour as proposed. The conceptual and practical design of FANS in components allows decision makers the testing of different schemes and alternatives.
